Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of these 3 marshall arts. If so, what do you think of them, and have you ever gotten a chance to do any of them?
I've taken a bit of Judo. If I have time again, I will most certainly take it up again. Ju-jitsu is another one, I'm keen on learning, it's a beautiful beautiful form of art. Contrary to what alot of people believe it's more a form of art, not a way to express violence. Kendo is trickier. Involves swords and things. I'd still like to see what I could get out of it though.
Take care.

Judo, the gentel way, foundded by Dr. Jogoro Kano is a grappeling art. This means that there is a lot of ground work. There are a lot of joint manipulations as well as chokes. Ju-jitsu, is the combative form of judo. judo takes a lot of it's movements from Ju-jitsu. Any art with jitsu in it's name is probabily the combative form of the art. Kendo, the sword art is beautyful as you say. I don't know the fonder off the top of my head, but the things they did with swords in the yesteryears were amazing.

Hi,
I've had several different experiences with all kinds of marshall arts.
Judo is related to wrestling in a lot of ways, and as stated in my profile, I am a wrestling allstar/champion.
There are so many different kinds of arts; it's unbelieveable, but yes I know what you are talking about with all the different styles.
I love to watch the experts, and learn from them.
One man, who I will allways admire, is Bruce Lee. He knew it all, and I think he could of kicked anyones ass on this planet. It's really unfortunate that he had to die at such an early age.

DF, thank you for the info. :D
Ryan, yeah man, wrestling does have it's ties to Judo... I used to wrestle but don't anymore.
The arts are so beautiful...
I have been wanting to study Judo for a while now but there is no school in my area. A good martial art is something which involves both offencive and defenceive manuvers from the five combative distances. Judo is well and good if your attacker is in close. You know close enough to grab them. If yoru attacker is a kicker or a boxer even you might be in for a beating. A good judo school might prepair you for those matches where your attacker comes at you with a bat or stick or knife ebven. The sword at while beautyful isn't practical anymore cause you can't carry a sword. I know bummer. I have an oppertunity to study masumora Ju-jitsu, I went to a class and I know each class is different and left to the instructor. I was wondering if any other blindies have studied this art? What did they think. This instructor focous on what he believes to work and drilling that nto you. You might learn one tecnique involving your self against someone with a knife. This instructor gagesthe tecnique on defenceability. What is the proability that this tecnique will work. I don't know that I agree with that method of thought call me crazy but that seems like there is too much room for error. Thoughts?

hey I do judo. I really like it a lot.
I tried judo before <grin> and some know the result, but I think it was interesting
I would take it up, if I weren't so lazy.
I've heard of them. I've done judo, but actually I mostly do karate. They are great sports. They give you ambission I think.
My brother took Judo for years and showed me some basic moves. Unfortunately, I couldn't get much one-on-one training here, which is what I think I would need at first anyway. But maybe once I move into the city.
Try it, judo's cool.
